On the delicate notes of life, I dance away
gradually unfastening
the mismatched ties..
I loose these limbs, open the eyes
shedding dried thoughts on this brightly lit day,
on the delicate notes of life, I lift my head up and dance away.
I lift my head up, they watch me and talk
as the lines on my feet
rub against the cold concrete;
I'm not a puppet honey,
you are a part of my play
on the delicate notes of life, I smirk and dance away.
I swirl around like smoke,
or a gorgeous stroke of brush
softening the wounded area
where the blood once rushed.
Don't stop.. this girl might go astray,
on the delicate notes of this thing called life, I dance away.

gawd!!!! u r awesome! i just loved it!!
ReplyDeletewhat depth and how profound :)
Ankitaaaaa...thank you for you amazingly sweet comment.
DeleteEvery time I read a new poem of yours I think 'this has got to be my favorite' and you come with a better one and I'm like..'this one is so damn good' and I can't pick a favorite. So they are all my favorites. Basically I have accepted the fact that you will exceed expectations on a daily basis! :D
ReplyDeleteWhile I was typing this comment, I had a thought. I just know you by Mirage. What is thy name, young girl ? :)
Baapre.. You did this to me again, you know! I cannot describe that warm fuzzy feeling, when I read your comment. Ufff!
DeleteHere I'm trying to attain a little bit of anonymity and you're asking me my name. Not fair! :P
Keep dancing away beautifully...and keep writing away beautifully :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! :)
Delete"I am not a puppet honey
ReplyDeleteYou are a part of my play,

HOW AMAZING ARE YOU WOMAN!
Not as amazing as you. :*
Delete"Don't stop.. this girl might go astray", who else apart from you can coin this beautiful sentence.
ReplyDeleteMake this a song, you shall have magic in your lyrics! :)
Really? Wow.. thaaaaankyou!
Deletei agree with Soumya on that, "Mirage"; i heard this as a song when i first read it too...
Deleteif you don't write music, you should collaborate with someone who does...
it may take a little tweaking, maybe repeating the 2nd stanza as a chorus, but it definitely can work as a song, better than most of the stuff i've heard lately...
when you tour the US with your entourage, save me a front row seat, ok?
That sounds too dreamy.. xD
DeleteBut I feel so happy that you and Soumya find potential in my work. It means a lot.
Thank you so much!
Gulzar bhi fail hai tere aagey. You write magic. No word in my dictionary can describe the beauty of Mirage. :)
ReplyDeleteKeep writing. God bless you.
Yaaaaashi! You know exactly how to make someone super happy. :*
Delete"On the delicate notes of this thing called life, I dance away." - a real beauty ... reading it again and again, and it's equally soothing and fresh every time :-)

ReplyDeleteDance is so therapeutic! Sigh, I have not danced freely for a long time.
